Snap Shot Lesson Video

Open Face Toe Pull (Drill #51 in the EHS Homework Curriculum)

It’s important you start training some puck handling techniques requiring you to load the puck SLOWER. How many players are actually working on slowing down their hands during their training regimen? Certainly not enough according to EHS Reston’s very own, Coach Sean McLaughlin.

Figuring out proper puck loading speed/cadence to help out your timing is what ultimately effects your ability to strike the puck on the proper part of your blade consistently.

So when should you actually accelerate your loading speed throughout the loading phase of the snap shot?

Where should the puck be placed for a cross body snap shot when walking the blue line?

And what should the loading angle of the puck be to get your shot off with velocity from distance?

Coach Sean covers all of this, including a brief history on the term puck “Sculling”, which is a staple term within the EHS curriculum.
